SEO / SERP Optimization

01 /  I want to be seen in search engines

Anchor 1

SEO means search engine optimization, which is the process of optimizing websites so that they obtain organic (unpaid) traffic from a search engine results page (most often Google or Seznam in the Czech Republic). In other words, SEO involves making certain changes to the design and content of a website that make your site more attractive to search engines. The goal of optimization is that the search engine will display your site as the best result on the search engine results page for the given query entered by the user into the search engine.

How does the search engine work?

Search engines want to provide their users with the best possible services. This means that search engine results pages (SERPs) will display results that are not only high quality, but also relevant to what the search engine is searching for. The ranking of a site in search results is influenced by many so-called positive factors (Google lists them in  currently over 200).

For this purpose, the search engine has so-called crawlers, ie robots whose task is to constantly search the Internet and index individual pages. So search engine optimization is based on  Optimizing website content to make it as readable as possible for robots that have an elementary effect on search engine rankings.

The better processed SEO, the better the ranking and the higher the position in the search results.

The basic diagram of the process is best understood in the following diagram:

How is the optimization going?

The SEO optimization itself then takes place in  basically several consecutive steps, which can be briefly divided into several areas. It also depends on  what stage is the site at:

1. SEO on emerging websites

If new websites are created responsibly in  In accordance with SEO requirements, in the future the site will avoid a lot of mistakes, which would then have to be complicated to correct. At the same time, it ensures faster and correct indexing of pages in search engines to relevant queries, thus achieving better conversions.

The SEO specialist will provide qualified advice on how to choose a domain and URL addresses, how to structure the site, how to write attractive texts for users and search engines (crawlers), how to use hyperlinks or what to avoid.

2. SEO optimization of an established website

SEO optimization for already established websites is much more complicated. First, you need to perform an input SEO analysis that will determine what errors the site contains.

What are the basic SEO factors?

1. On-page factors

Factors directly related to a given website, especially its code and content, can therefore be directly influenced by SEO optimization. These include in particular:

  • Placing keywords in meta tags (title, description).

  • URLs. These should be easy to remember and contain keywords, not clusters of letters and numbers.

  • Location of keywords, their number (density and coherence) and placement in headings.

  • Quantity, quality and uniqueness of texts .

  • Linking texts on the web via hyperlinks.

  • Valid source code. The source code should meet the criteria of the W3C consortium and other generally accepted standards.

2. Off-page factors

Unlike on-page factors, off-page factors are harder to influence and therefore search engines give them more weight. However, even these factors can be worked on and optimized. The most important off-page factors include:

  • The number of backlinks leading to the page.

  • Quality (pagerank) of backlinks and their relevance.

These were the basic principles of SEO. We have also written an article for you summarizing half-pathetically how SEO works . At the same time, we summarize SEO trends in 2021.
